The primary goal of the bill (Reg. No.8137) is to arrange legislative conditions and consolidate fundamental principles of mediation in Ukraine; implement the practice of alternate dispute resolution without appealing to the formal system of judicial proceedings between the parties of the tolerant business negotiations with the participation of the third neutral party mediator and use of scheme decisions to be observed by the parties on a voluntary basis.
The People's Deputies emphasized that the bill envisages use of mediation as an out-of-court, rapid and efficient way to solve disputes. Thus, the bill lays the principles of mediation, requirements for the mediators, order of their certification, rights and obligations of the mediation parties, peculiarities of involvement of other mediation participants, commencement and order of mediation use and its termination, authorities and liabilities of the organizations in charge of mediation, legal status of mediators unions and their authorities.
